The South Carolina Inter-State and West Indian
Exposition was held in Charleston in 1901 and 1902. The Illinois Commission at
the Exposition was established in 1901 to take charge of the Illinois exhibits
and the construction and management of the Illinois Building (L. 1901, p. 45).
