Commercial Drivers License

School Bus CDL - J48 Restriction

Individuals who wish to operate only school buses may apply for a School Bus CDL. This license restricts the holder to operating only a school bus when it is used as a school bus. The operator may not use this license to operate a school bus when it is used as a chartered vehicle or drive any other commercial motor vehicle. In addition to the license, the individual is required to have a passenger endorsement; school bus endorsement and a School Bus Driver Permit. There is a fee for the School Bus CDL.
