Family Reading Night Illinois Center for the Book


Sponsored by Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian, Jesse White, and the Illinois Center for the Book, Family Reading Night is an annual statewide event held the third Thursday in November to encourage families to spend quality time reading together. The next Family Reading Night will be November 16, 2017.

Each year, posters and bookmarks are made available for libraries, schools, youth and literacy organizations to promote their Family Reading Night programs. Both are available for download at the links provided below.

Share Your Family Reading Night Photos

Photos from your Family Reading Night event showing families reading together, may be submitted for consideration in future Illinois State Library publications. Email photos in JPEG format to bmatheis@ilsos.net.

Please note: All photo correspondence must include the name of the agency and contact information. Each photo should include a description, as well as the first and last names of each person in the photo. If any of your photos are selected, you will be contacted to obtain release information for those in the pictures.
