ILLINOIS STATE LIBRARY
System Technology Grants
System Technology grants from the Illinois State Library, part of the Secretary of State "Live and Learn" funding initiative, are being used by the regional library systems to establish and enhance systems’ connections to the Internet and support web based services for member libraries.
Services and configuration vary by library system, but in general the system technology funding is being used to provide direct Internet connectivity at system headquarters and for "online" members of the system’s shared bibliographic database (LLSAP), and dial-in capability for other libraries in the system.
