Family Reading Night
Family Reading Night is an annual statewide event held the third Thursday in November to encourage families to spend quality time reading together. It is sponsored by the Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian, Jesse White and Illinois Center for the Book. The next Family Reading Night will be November 19, 2015..
Each year, posters and bookmarks are made available for libraries, schools, youth and literacy organizations to promote their Family Reading Night programs.
How to Receive FREE Posters and Bookmarks
Submit the Family Reading Night Materials Order Form to the Illinois State Library before February 15, 2015. Materials are printed based on the number of orders submitted by the deadline and will be shipped in September 2015. While orders will be accepted after the deadline, please note that those placed after the February 15 deadline cannot be guaranteed.

Family Reading Night Photos
Photos from your Family Reading Night event showing families reading together, may be submitted for consideration in future Illinois State Library publications. Email photos in JPEG format to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: All photo correspondence must include the name of the agency and contact information. Each photo should include a description, as well as the first and last names of each person in the photo. If any of your photos are selected, you will be contacted to obtain release information for those in the pictures.
