Overview
The Illinois State Library seeks innovative, competitive grant
applications from all types of Illinois libraries for grant funding.
Grants are offered using Library Services and Technology Act funds,
Educate and Automate funds, and Live and Learn grant funding. The
competitive offerings have varying timetables according to the type
of grant program, and it is recommended that a library carefully
evaluates the components of the projected program or activity and
apply during the appropriate time period for the appropriate type
of grant program.
While Illinois is rich in its diversity, many libraries are often financially
unable to test pilot projects, initiate new services targeting special
groups, or purchase needed materials or equipment to support ongoing services.
Grants can assist libraries in fulfilling their role to provide information
access and enhanced services for their communities. By helping to form
new linkages and partnerships, it is hoped that these competitive grants
will assist Illinois libraries in meeting their mission statements and
enriching their communities. For additional information regarding current
grant offerings, visit the Illinois State Library Web site at http://wwww.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/library/home.html.
