The third edition of the Trustee Facts File is meant to provide a broad overview of the duties, responsibilities, and tasks of the public library trustee. Topics that are basic to the successful operation of a public library are covered. This handbook should be made available to all trustees. It would be an ideal component of a trustee orientation and education program. It is a quick reference tool, written by Illinois trustees and library directors who are experienced and knowledgeable on the topics about which they have written.
