ILLINET/OCLC Services offers a variety of benefits for today's libraries. Workshops are held throughout the year. One-on-one training (for members willing to travel to Springfield) and distance learning opportunities are available throughout the year. We partner with the Illinois OCLC Users' Group to provide workshops at nominal costs. We maintain free consulting services and electronic announcement listservs. Our website is located at http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/library/who_we_are/OCLC/home.html. OCLC membership
is dependent on being a full member of an Illinois Regional Library System.
Benefits
Illinois OCLC members benefit from Group Services pricing, which entitles each member to unlimited use of OCLC cataloging, interlibrary loan, union list and reference services (First Search), including the IL Statewide Library Catalog (SILC). Libraries receive a single annual bill, with an option of multiple payments throughout the year.
How To Join
Please send an email message to your Regional Library System Liaison with the following information:
- Your organization name, your name, email and phone number
- The approximate number of items in your Library catalogs annually.
- The approximate number of ILL borrows your library will do through OCLC WorldCat Resource Sharing annually.
After consultation, libraries will receive two copies of a contract that must be signed and returned to the Illinois State Library. After the signed contracts are received, the ILLINET/OCLC Services staff forward access and training information.
