Military — Universal Veteran Motorcycle

Universal Veteran License Plates

Universal Veteran Motorcycle License Plates may be issued to any Illinois resident who has served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The Universal Veterans plate has also been designed in a smaller size specifically for motorcycles.

Fees

Random-Number Universal Veteran Motorcycle License Plates
  • Newly acquired vehicle/first-time issuance - $136 ($95 title fee + $41 registration fee)
  • Currently titled vehicle/first-time issuance - $41 ($41 registration fee)
  • Current plates expire within 90 days - $67 ($41 registration fee + $26 replacement fee)
  • Current plates do not expire within 90 days - $26 ($26 replacement fee)
  • Annual renewal - $41 ($41 registration fee)

Switching from current random-number Universal Veteran Motorcycle plates to vanity and/or personalized Universal Veteran Motorcycle plates requires a $29 replacement fee. Registration fee may vary based on current registration.


Vanity Universal Veteran Motorcycle License Plates
  • Newly acquired vehicle/first-time issuance - $136 ($95 title fee + $41 registration fee)

To Apply

  • One must provide a DD 214 or equivalent to prove service.
  • The request can only be processed in Springfield. Apply in person or mail the proper documentation to:
