Persons with Disabilities Motorcycle License Plates

Persons with Disabilities License Plates are available to persons who have qualifying disabilities

Fees

Random-Number License Plates Fees
  • Newly acquired vehicle/first-time issuance - $196 ($95 title fee + $101 registration fee)
  • Currently titled vehicle/first-time issuance - $101 ($101 registration fee)
  • Current plates expire within 90 days - $130 ($101 registration fee + $29 replacement fee)
  • Current plates do not expire within 90 days - $29 ($29 replacement fee)
  • Annual renewal - $101 ($101 registration fee)

Vanity License Plates Fees
  • Newly acquired vehicle/first-time issuance - $290 ($95 title fee + $101 registration fee + $94 vanity plate fee)
  • Currently titled vehicle/first-time issuance - $195 ($101 registration fee + $94 vanity plate fee)
  • Current plates expire within 90 days - $224 ($101 registration fee + $94 vanity plate fee + $29 replacement fee)
  • Current plates do not expire within 90 days - $123 ($94 vanity plate fee + $29 replacement fee)
  • Annual renewal - $114 ($101 registration fee + $13 vanity plate fee)

Personalized License Plates Fees
  • Newly acquired vehicle/first-time issuance - $243 ($95 title fee + $101 registration fee + $47 personalized plate fee)
  • Currently titled vehicle/first-time issuance - $148 ($101 registration fee + $47 personalized plate fee)
  • Current plates expire within 90 days - $177 ($101 registration fee + $47 personalized plate fee + $29 replacement fee)
  • Current plates do not expire within 90 days - $76 ($47 personalized plate fee + $29 replacement fee)
  • Annual renewal - $108 ($101 registration fee + $7 personalized plate fee)

To Apply

  • One must have a Persons with Disabilities Certification, signed by a licensed doctor.
  • The request can only be processed in Springfield. Apply in person or mail the proper documentation to:

Availability

  • Persons with Disabilities license plates are multi-year and may be displayed on trucks and vans weighing 8,000 pounds or less, sport utility vehicles and antique trucks.
  • Eligible for Benefit Access Program
