Each year, roughly 20,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer. A large number of these women will die within five years of being diagnosed. According to the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ovarian cancer ranks eighth among the most common kinds of cancer and is the fifth leading cause of cancer deaths among women. Education, early diagnosis and treatment are crucial to increasing survival rates of this deadly disease.
To increase awareness about ovarian cancer, Ovarian Cancer Awareness License Plates are offered. Proceeds from the sale of these plates help support grants to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Inc., for ovarian cancer education and awareness programs.
