SPRINGFIELD –– About 2,502 Illinois financial
institutions are selling passenger car, motorcycle and small
truck and trailer renewal stickers for the year 2001,
Secretary of State Jesse White said today.
The new white on red stickers are available at 1,703
banks, 17 savings and loan associations, 77 credit unions
and 705 currency exchanges.
"Financial institutions provide a valuable service to
Illinois motorists and continue to be valued partners with
the Secretary of State’s office," White said. "In 1999,
financial institutions sold 2,053,482 stickers, or about 19
percent of all passenger car, motorcycle and small truck and
trailer renewals processed by this office."
Stickers also may be purchased at 117 Secretary of
State license facilities and five mobile units, by using
"Touch-Tone Renewal" or by mailing renewal applications to
Springfield.
