SPRINGFIELD –– Secretary of State Jesse White today reminded auto enthusiasts that the 2002 Secretary of State's Antique Vehicle Show is only four weeks away.
The all-day show, which includes a swap meet and flea market, will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, at the State Fairgrounds in Springfield.
First organized in 1949 as an Antique Auto Meet, the show today features not only some of the finest antique and classic vehicles in Illinois, but sports cars and motorcycles as well.
"The Antique Vehicle Show provides a fun-filled day for the entire family," said White. "Once again, the show will be held in conjunction with the WNNS/Valco Cruise for Charity so visitors can enjoy both events."

The Illinois State Champion award will be given to the vehicle judged best at the show by the Antique Vehicle Show Advisory Committee. First, second and third place winners will receive awards in at least 44 classes of vehicles, including antique motor scooters, motor-powered bikes and antique motorcycles.
The Antique Vehicle Show Advisory Committee will sponsor a reception for participants at the Northfield Inn on Friday, Sept. 6. The Northfield Inn & Suites is also providing special hotel rates are for out-of-town participants.
