SPRINGFIELD –– Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White has announced that the Illinois State Library will host an Electronic Resource Exposition for the library community on Wednesday, February 27th at the Schaumburg Township District Library.
The free ERXPO will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Schaumburg Township District Library is located at 130 South Roselle Road in Schaumburg.
"As State Librarian I am committed to doing all I can to ensure that the Illinois library community has the most modern and up to date tools and resources to serve our patrons," White said. "For the past three years the Illinois State Library has hosted hugely successful fairs that showcase electronic resource products, in a setting that provides both informative group sessions and one-on-one meetings between electronic resource representatives and librarians. This free event is a welcome opportunity for members of the library community to interact with representatives who will discuss and demonstrate the very latest electronic resource products available to enhance service to our patrons."
Together with one-on-one meetings, electronic resource representatives will conduct 45-minute group focus sessions throughout the day. No pre-registration is necessary for ERXPO 2002, and there is ample free parking at the Schaumburg Library.
The Illinois State Library, ILLINET Network Advisory Council and the Schaumburg Township District Library are co-sponsors of ERXPO 2002. For additional information about the event, contact Barbara Alexander, Illinois State Library Network Consultant, at 217-785-7334 or balexander@ilsos.net
