2003 Temporary "T" Passenger Car Renewal
Stickers Available at Illinois Financial Institutions

SPRINGFIELD –– About 2,415 Illinois financial institutions are selling 120-day temporary "T" renewal stickers for 2003. "T" stickers are issued to passenger car owners who are ordering new design plates with either the same plate number or a random number. The "T" sticker is then affixed to the old license plate until the new plates are manufactured and delivered to the motorist. Motorcycle and small truck and trailer renewal stickers for 2003 also are available for a slight additional fee.

The new stickers are available at 1,599 banks, 14 savings and loan associations, 78 credit unions and 724 currency exchanges.

"Financial institutions provide a valuable service to Illinois motorists and continue to be valued partners with the Secretary of State's office," White said. "In 2001, financial institutions sold 2.4 million stickers that produced $137.2 million in revenue."

Stickers also can be purchased at 116 Secretary of State license facilities and five mobile units, by using "Touch-Tone Renewal" or by mailing renewal applications to Springfield.
