SPRINGFIELD Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White has announced that a display of books authored or co-authored by the late United States Senator Paul Simon will be on display at the Illinois State Library through January 16th.
Simon, who died on Tuesday, was the author or co-author of more than twenty books.
"In addition to being an exemplary public servant, Paul Simon was an outstanding and prolific writer," White said. "His many books are a permanent reminder of his thought-provoking views on politics, government, the media and other issues. Readers can learn much from his works, and I hope citizens will visit the State Library and check out Senator Simon's books."
The books will be on display next to the second floor reference desk at the library. The Illinois State Library is located at 300 South Second Street in Springfield. Patrons may visit the library between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. State employees and any person with a valid Illinois public library card may borrow books directly from the Illinois State Library's circulating collections.
