Secretary White Announces Facilities’ Hours To Change Corresponding With Winter Hours
Secretary of State Jesse White announced his office would reinstitute a program aimed at better serving customers during winter hours.
Beginning the week of Monday, December 1, 2008, through Saturday, February 28, 2009, facilities statewide will institute standardized winter hours to take advantage of daylight. Late hours for facilities previously open at night one day a week will be eliminated during this time.
"Changing the hours give us an opportunity to serve the public while it's still light out," White said. "We hope it makes it easier for them to take care of their business with us especially during the holiday season."
In the Chicago area, facilities that are open Tuesday through Saturday will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. On Saturdays they will be open from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
