The Illinois State Library supports statewide library development through an array of grant offerings and other initiatives designed to augment interlibrary cooperation and to increase the role of libraries in meeting the information needs of their user communities. Specific programs include participation of all types of libraries and user populations, covering all regions of the state. Some of the important areas addressed include library construction, online access, continuing education, resource sharing, literacy, and diversity.
