Family Reading Night
Family Reading Night is an annual statewide event held the third Thursday in November to encourage families to spend quality time reading together. It is sponsored by the Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian, Jesse White and Illinois Center for the Book. The next Family Reading Night will be November 20, 2014.
How to Participate
Each year, posters and bookmarks are made available for libraries and literacy organizations to promote Family Reading Night. To participate in Family Reading Night, submit the Family Reading Night Materials Order Form to the Illinois State Library before March 15, 2014. Materials ordered after the March 15 deadline cannot be guaranteed.

Family Reading Night Photos
Photos from your 2013 Family Reading Night event showing families reading together, may be submitted for consideration on the 2014 Family Reading Night poster. Email photos in JPEG format to firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for submitting photos is January 15, 2014.
Please note: All photo correspondence must include the name of the agency and contact information. Each photo should include a description, as well as the first and last names of each person in the photo. If any of your photos are selected, you will be contacted to obtain release information for those in the pictures.
